New Mitsubishi Electric Technical Information Centre to Put Every Product Document One Search Away

Bilingual, accessibility-audited resource hub organizes thousands of technical documents automatically and brings compatibility checks, generated submittals, and rebate lookups to each product page
TORONTO, Ontario — September 2026 — Manyways Inc., the company behind Decision Support Platform Wayfinder, has launched a new Technical Information Centre (TIC) for Mitsubishi Electric Sales Canada Inc. (MESCA). Live at tic.mitsubishielectric.ca as of September 16, 2026, the TIC replaces MESCA's previous technical portal and gives contractors, distributors, and dealers a single place to find any Canadian residential heating and cooling product and every document attached to it: manufacturer drawings, installation and operation manuals, parts and service manuals, submittal sheets, technical data sheets, application notes, and rebate information. The site is delivered in English and French, was audited and remediated against the WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standard required under Ontario's AODA legislation, and runs entirely on MESCA's own infrastructure.
At the centre of the build is a Product Data Management Portal that Manyways first developed for MESCA's Submittal Generator and has since expanded into the system of record for the TIC. MESCA's product team uses the portal to define product categories, associate indoor and outdoor models into families and systems, and set the compatibility rules that govern which units can be paired. The TIC's navigation is not hand-built: category menus, product listings, and model pages are generated from the portal's data, so a new product line appears on the public site the moment the product team publishes it, in both languages, without a web developer touching a template.
Document organization works the same way. MESCA maintains thousands of literature files in a central library. Rather than tagging each file by hand, the TIC applies pattern-matching rules to file names, meaning it reads the model numbers and document types encoded in each name and files the document under the correct product and literature category automatically. When a new manual or drawing is added to the library under the naming standard, it surfaces on the right model page on its own. Product search runs on Typesense, an open-source search engine, with a classic file search for MESCA's established product lines and an indexed, webhook-fed search for the newer A2L refrigerant products, so that model number queries return results instantly and reflect the latest submittal data.
Several product pages go beyond documentation. Multi-split outdoor units carry a compatibility calculator that lets a contractor build a system on the page: the tool tracks connected capacity against the outdoor unit's available capacity, applies the manufacturer's oversizing allowance, enforces the per-type connection limits for each indoor unit family (floor-standing, wall-mount, ceiling cassette, ceiling-concealed, and air handler), and rules out invalid combinations before a quote is ever written. The same model pages link directly to three earlier Manyways builds for MESCA: the Submittal Generator, which produces an up-to-date submittal document for any product on demand; the Marketing Chart Generator, which renders bilingual product comparison sheets from the same governed data; and the Mitsubishi Heat Pump Rebate Finder, a Wayfinder-based tool that returns the rebates a given system qualifies for. What were four separate tools now behave as one connected reference for MESCA's channel.
The measurable change for MESCA's audience is that the answer to "which document, which pairing, which rebate" is now a search away rather than a phone call or an email to MESCA's technical support team. Distributors who were walked through the new functionality ahead of launch responded with strong enthusiasm, and MESCA's product and service teams expect a meaningful reduction in the routine document requests, compatibility questions, and outdated-literature errors that previously consumed specialist time. Because every page is generated from the data of record, a specification change, a new pairing rule, or a replaced manual propagates to the public site once, in both official languages, with no risk of one page drifting out of date while another is corrected.
A large share of the engagement was not visible on the public site at all. Before the TIC could organize thousands of documents automatically, MESCA's product data had to be structured to support it. Manyways worked alongside MESCA's product team to define the naming standards, category structure, and model associations the system depends on, built the portal tooling that lets the team maintain that structure themselves, and guided the team through restructuring its existing catalogue. That groundwork is what allows the TIC, the Submittal Generator, the Marketing Chart Generator, and the compatibility calculator to draw from one consistent source rather than four.
"The public site is the part people see, but the real work was upstream. We spent months with MESCA's product team guiding them through structuring their data so a machine could organize it, and building them the tools to maintain it on an ongoing basis. Once that existed, the TIC, the submittals, the comparison sheets, the compatibility rules, the rebate finder—everything we've developed for them—all became views of the same data source instead of separate projects to maintain."
— Steph Bigue, Cofounder & CEO, Manyways Inc.
"Our intent with a technical information center is to have a single source of truth for technical information that comes from varied sources—DAM, PIM, factory data sheets and document generation. We developed a light layer of orchestration for MESCA so they can publish and manage documents at scale, all while keeping internationalization and accessibility at the heart of the solution."
— Arjuna Shankar, Cofounder & CTO, Manyways Inc.
"When we showed distributors the new TIC, the reaction was immediate. They could find a model, see everything connected to it, check what pairs with what, and pull a current submittal without asking us. For our distributors and dealers that means faster, more accurate quotes, and for our team it means fewer repeat questions and more time for the work that actually needs a specialist."
— Geoff Sharman, Product and Service Management Specialist, Mitsubishi Electric Sales Canada Inc.
Operationally, the project shifts document and data upkeep from a request-driven process to a publishing one. MESCA's product team now maintains categories, model associations, compatibility rules, and literature in a single portal, and the public site, the submittal output, and the marketing sheets update from it. Requests that once moved between technical support, marketing, and web administration as emails and attachments are resolved by the structure of the data itself. Manyways delivered the accessibility audit and remediation as a separate engagement and provided the training and documentation that lets MESCA operate and extend the TIC without ongoing developer involvement.
